Ways to enforce child support

Every child deserves the love and support of both of their parents. This care can be provided to a child through various means including, the most common after divorce, child support. Child support is a payment made from one parent to the other to help cover the expense associated with raising their child. Family Court determines what child support will be and how it will be paid. And although we would all hope that all paying parents stay current with their child support obligation, it is not uncommon for individuals to become delinquent or simply refuse to pay.

Benefits of being recognized as domestic partners

Over the years, same-sex partners have encountered many struggles no matter what state they lived in. From marriage and divorce to child custody and adopting a child, there were a number of things that same-sex partners had to face and had no way of knowing how everything would play out. Even though much of the struggle is over and same-sex relationships have recently become more acceptable by the legal system, couples are still opting to register as domestic partners, rather than marry one another.
